I give up

This has now turned into Sammy's cabinet. Her favorite thing to do is take all the plastic ware out and then put it back again and then take it all out and...well, you get the picture.

What's a girl to do?

Let's see....iphone and cookie. Yeah, she's happy. (And yes, she knows how to use her finger on the iphone to slide the images.) Kids, these days.
P.S. We leave today for our trip. I have scheduled some posts to publish for the next couple of days until I can take and upload new photos there. Oh, and find WiFi...that's always fun. So there may be a day or two without...SORRY!

Here's all the oatmeal you need to add, Sammy.

And here's what's left of a full bag of coconut to taste. Yep, Grumpa gets the rest.

Baking Cookies

Most of you know that we take an annual vacation to the Grand Tetons. And most of you know that the week or two leading up to our vacation, I pre-cook many dinners for us so as not to have to spend time in the kitchen there. I also bake cookies, along with Mommy, for all to enjoy. Yesterday, I told Grumpa that I would make his favorite cookie: Oatmeal with chocolate chips and coconut. Lots of coconut. A FULL bag of coconut. He likes his Oatmeal cookies with a side order of coconut. Anyway, Sammy was here and I thought this would be a good time to show her the ins and outs of baking. You know, pass on the secrets to the next generation. What's my secret of Oatmeal Cookies? Use the recipe on the box of oatmeal. Here she is in full baking regalia. This little apron was Auntie Kenna's when she was about six or seven and I began to show her things in the kitchen.

A Hobby

Sammy is learning what to pack into the scrapbook bag. Rhinestones? Check. Paper? Check. Stickers? Check. Binky? Check. No, wait....not the binky, Sammy.

Crocs

Mommy and I agree. Crocs are the ugliest shoes on this planet. Naturally, I had to order some little pink ones for Sammy to make Mommy twitch. When I ordered them, the smallest size I could get were way too big for Sammy's little feet. Now, Miss Monkey Toes fits into them. And I have to laugh....they're still ugly!

Danger!

This is THE most dangerous isle in our grocery store. Unfortunately, I can't NOT go down it because it's also the cereal isle. I might need to blindfold her next time.

Happy little girl

She's such a surly child, don't you think? Always grumpy and sullen. It's a chore to be around her.....

Grinning

Here you can see all four of her top teeth. Ok, so the side ones are really little right now, but they've popped through the gums. She's got two more coming up on the bottom now, too. She's getting better with this teething thing. She still can get grouchy for a couple of hours (don't we all?) but a nap or some Tylenol takes care of the worst of it.

Let's eat

Again, it's play time at meal time when Grumpa is around....

Christmas in July

I keep our Christmas nutcracker figure tucked away in our laundry room. Mommy hates actual nutcrackers (something about their jaws?) but loves the Nutcracker Ballet. I wanted to make sure that Sammy doesn't become afraid of any nutcrackers so I brought this out yesterday. She had seen parts of it back in the corner of the laundry room so it really wasn't a surprise to her to see the full figure itself. She wanted to play with it, though. And she smiled at it to finally see it out and not playing hide and seek with some hanging laundry!

Nectarines

This little baby girl loves her fruit and I'm so glad of it. I'm really not a fruit eater but know the importance of it in a person's diet. I made sure that my kids always had fruit available to them and I do the same with Sammy. This nectarine was really hard when I bought it so I was happy to find it finally ripe yesterday morning. After her oatmeal, this was in store for dessert. She loved it! We had juice dripping off her chin in between bites. She thought that it was so funny, too.

Go figure

Also, Sammy has inherited Mommy's love of pickles! Of course, Sammy eats pretty much everything in front of her. Or offered to her. Or put in her mouth. She's a great eater.

And a new phone

And this phone talks. It talks about saving baby penquins, baby sea lions and a puppy. I think Greenpeace makes this phone.

Have I mentioned this before?

So, I took Sammy shopping with me again today. Yes, again. I never learn. She was excited about some outfits I showed her. And then we went to the shoe department. Gah.

Pink!

I took Sammy grocery shopping with me yesterday. Mistake #1. My grocery list was forgotten and anything I bought was for Missy here. Mistake #2. First order of business I had was apparently buying a pink ball for her. She loves it. She loves to throw it to my little yorkie, Sadie.
Also, I forgot to mention the other day that Sammy's fifth tooth has popped through, with three others close behind.
