I ordered this miniature trike for Sammy and Camden to play with while they are over here. Not even thinking that, yeah, it's pink and purple and yellow. Like Camden even wants to ride a princess trike? Camden is ONE WEEK OLD. I highly doubt it. Anyway, Sammy has the run of it now. She's learning how to pedal and I am getting enough cardio in pushing her around in it I will turn into a slender waif. Soon, she'll be ready for the big girl one....
Only one thing grabs Sammy's attention span like this: E-L-M-O. Yes, we need to spell it otherwise somebody hears the name and starts bouncing off the walls in excitement. I'm blaming Auntie for starting this whole thing!
Yes, now she can reach a light switch. A light switch that turns the outside water feature pump on or off. Turns on the outside lights. Turns on the inside entry light. And finally it turns on the outside electrical switch. All this means is NV Energy (formerly Sierra Pacific Power Co.) loves us.
What you can't see here is the barette she has in her hair signifying the fact that she's a girl. (and the pearl earrings help, too!) Mommy and Daddy had a photography session with her on some miniture ponies. Doesn't she look cute? Looks like she could fit in and be at home at the Bosworth Ranch!
Do you all remember when I was a little anxious to teach Sammy how to climb up the stairs? We didn't have a two story house when our kids were little so this was as new to me as it was to her. Well, she's up and down the stairs like an Alpine mountaineer now. But now? Now she wants to walk, not crawl, up and down those stairs. Teaching her to hold onto the iron was one thing...balancing is quite another. Those anxious moments before are like little fawns leaping about in a quiet, flower-filled meadow now. I wonder if they make stair helmuts?
This little doll was made by my mom after she was shown how to by a girlfriend of hers. It has a porcelain head and the body, arms and legs are filled with very small beans. Real eyelashes and hair, too. My mom made this when I was in high school so as a little girl, it wasn't there for me to play with. I re-discovered it recently and offered it to Sammy to play with. That lasted all of 15 minutes when she was dragging it by the hair to stuff into the storage area of her scooter. While she wasn't looking, the little heritage doll made her escape into a closet once again until Sammy is a little older and can play with it with more care.
But, as you can see, the dog bed is again out in full force and the little dolly shared it with Sammy.
Meet Elmo. This is Sammy's BFF, just ask her. She says his name and nods her head yes as if you should know him (it?) personally like she does. Elmo! Elmo! Elmo! Mommy even bought her her own Elmo doll that talks when you shake him. I guess that I'm still surprised that Sesame Street is still on and we're not at least seeing the KIDS of these muppets. Seriously...these things are 35-40 years old and still sound like small children.
Today's episode was brought to you by the letter C and number 7.
When I look at this beautiful shot of little Sammy, I see a glimpse of the woman she'll grow up to be. Something about her eyes and the gaze she has, perhaps? Anyway, this is one of my favorite photos of her recently.
Most of you know that Sammy's Auntie is due to have her baby in one more week, if not sooner. Or later. Anyway, I've been doing future posts here on Daily Samantha, but I just want you all to know that there just might be a day or two that the blog doesn't get updated. I'll do my best to keep plenty of posts out there in the blogosphere ready to pull down at a moment's notice for you here.
Oh my goodness!! The cardio workout I got this afternoon...wooboy! We were jumping around and dancing and jumping and did I mention the jumping? Sammy was having a blast. And then Daddy showed up. He dances the same way he did 28 years ago! And Sammy loved it...including "shake yer bum!" that Daddy did.
Mommy, Sammy and I had lunch the other day at a sushi restaurant. (Mommy had only cooked items since she's pregnant with Sammy's little sister) At first Sammy wasn't quite sure about this item to put in her mouth but she tried it. And liked it. She ate that whole piece herself. Now if we can just get her to like the wasabi....
Sammy continues with her fascination of shoes and putting shoes on and taking shoes off. Only now? Now, she wants you to do the same. We must trade our shoes. And my shoes on her look like huge clown shoes. And you all know how I feel about clowns!
