A new trick

"I can't keep my tongue in my mouf"

Daddy brought Sammy over this morning with news of what she's been doing over the weekend. Sticking her tongue out 24/7.

Mmmm, tasty!

If you give her anything to hold in her hands, it goes directly to her mouth to taste. This just happens to be Auntie Kenna's Puffalump that she had as a child. (and we have reached 250 views in one week!)

Such a happy baby

When I see her like this I just want to grab her up and kiss her all over. She is so addictive!

Fall is sneaking up on us

Sammy has been coming over in the mornings now dressed in warmer snuggle pj's because it's been dropping degrees daily here. Although our daytime temps are great, the morning's are just a wee bit chilly. Sammy is smiling at my little dog Sadie in the picture. Whenever Sammy is around dogs she just lights up.

Who among us remembers this? You must be older than Mommy and Daddy

Many might know the phrase, "don't hate me because I'm beautiful" but not it's origins. This is Kelly Le Brock, ex wife to Steven Seagal, and co-star in "Weird Science", an sophomoric movie from the 1980's*. I bring this up because, well, do I have to explain it to you? Sammy is obviously THE choice for the Most Beautiful award. Pantene will be calling soon.

And please note, the darker hair coming in? Who says that Mommy isn't making her DNA known? Pantiene may have to wait awhile yet...

*ok, and "Woman In Red" but you'll have to look that one up yourself.

Peek A Boo

Can you see me? I see you!

Tuesday, September 23, 2008

Hey! I know you!

Sammy grabbed onto Quiet Bear the other day and it was so cute. And the expression on her face was "Hey, I haven't see you in long time! How's it going?"

5 months old

Sammy turned 5 months old yesterday. I don't know if you can read her t-shirt very well but it says, "Does this diaper make my butt look big?" My response is, "No, not your lower cheeks, but your face cheeks? Yes." You can also see her little dimple, too!

Bananas

Sammy has been sampling food these days, mainly rice cereal and now bananas. And her reaction? Not so much. This is not for her caloric intake but to get her used to texture, spoons, and swallowing something that isn't formula. But does she look like she needs more food? All together now: "She has more Chins than a chinese telephone book!"

Age of Aquarius

White leggings and a Peace sign t-shirt? Were you born in 1967? Where's your love beads? And your Patchouli oil? And let's not forget a strip of leather for a headband! (And I have music...just click to your right-->)

Front and back

See that red area on the back of Sammy's head? That is a Stork Bite or Angel Kiss. I've heard them called both. All I know is that I kiss this area daily, many times.

She's more and more comfortable on her tummy now looking at things. Things to get into when she becomes mobile.

A long distance kick in the butt

Thanks, Nana for passing on the message to Mommy about The Other Blog. Yes, campers, a few new posts are up at 'From This Moment On'. Now that I can take a deep breath again, my blogging will resume there and hopefully, very soon, I'll be up todate. Is Nana the only one reading it?

Uncle Kyle and Auntie Sheena

Can't you just imagine Sammy glancing around like this and asking,"Uh, where's my cousins?"

C-c-c-c-old

Daddy, Mommy, and Sammy went to Mommy's family reunion this past weekend. They have a cut-throat golf tournament, go out on the boat, and here...swim in the pool. Sammy participated in the pool event although it wasn't warm enough for her. Apparently, she's not into the Polar Bear club....
Family reunions are big things in both familys. Mimi's family will be having another big one in January when the cousins from Australia arrive. Mommy's family has this one every year in California. I'll be posting a few more photos from this during the week.

New faces

This is Sammy's new face. She likes to suck in her bottom lip and keep it like this. She's so funny when she does it. Having not seen her now for over a week I was amazed at how much she's grown! Today she weighs 15 lbs 13.5 ounces. But it feels more like 25 pounds. I can't put my hand around her thighs now, either. Go figure. And thank you, Mommy, for taking care of everyone's Daily Samantha fix last week while Grumpa and I were on R&R.

Baby Einstein

Daddy brought home a new toy for Samantha, Baby Einstein. Samantha decided to roll over to look at the owls on the play mat. She wanted to try and put them in her mouth...instead her burp cloth kept going in her mouth! I see her getting smarter everyday.

Do I look Hungry?

Do I look hungry to you? I mean seriously do you really think that I need more food, look at this face.

When Samantha is trying to chew she looks like the baby dinosaur on the show The Dinosaurs, know the show? She chews on her bottom lip and that is her way of chewing! She continued to eat her bottom lip for the rest of the night.

My First Chair

Samantha doesn't really like the rice cereal that is being put in her mouth, most of it comes back out. Nana suggested a chair that I used to sit in when I was little. She used it to feed me my food...soooo Samantha got a chair. Last night she got to sit in her chair and she LOVED it!! She sat in the chair for probably about an hour and smiled and smiled...tonight however she is getting food with her chair. So wish us luck!

Why practice?

Sammy joined us for the wedding rehearsal. She looked kinda bored with the show. (But take a look at those thighs now!) Soon after the rehearsal Mommy and Daddy met up with Nana and Grampa Ed for the weekend. Both Mommy and Daddy missed this little pumpkin bunches, but, boy howdy...Mommy and Daddy danced their feet off at the wedding. In fact, Daddy danced so hard that he had to cool off in Lake Tahoe.
And would you look at that poll? It looks like Mommy has to post Daily Samantha while Mimi and Grumpa are gone. Although it looks like two people voted 'NO', it was actually only one person who 'tricked' the computer and voted twice. Guess who? Her initials are M-O-M-M-Y. Nice try.

A 'fitting' Post

This past Friday, Sammy and I went to Auntie Kenna's final wedding dress fitting. Sammy approves of the lace; in fact, it tastes really good. Like chicken.

Nana and Grampa Ed are coming up to babysit Sammy for the wedding since both Mommy and Daddy are in the wedding. This will be a very special time for Nana and Grampa to have Sammy all to themselves.

I call this 'Portrait of Two Princesses'.

Also, since this is such a big weekend for our family, Daily Samantha will have to skip two days until I return on Sunday. See you then.

Vacation, part deux

Hi folks.

As you all know, Auntie Kenna and Uncle Dave are getting married this Saturday. After all is said and done, literally, Grumpa and I are taking a week off to wind down. Decompress. I will be off the grid for an entire week. I asked Mommy if she would like to guest post while I'm gone. As this is a family blog, I won't tell you what she said. Or the language. tsk tsk tsk, Mommy. What are you, a sailor?

As it stands now, I told Mommy that I'd let all of you decide. Right over there ---> is a voting panel. Let your voice be heard. Vote '08!

ps...folks, you have to have a Google account to vote here. It's free and easy to use. Sign up today!

Love to all of you,
Mimi

Flying high

This was taken one day after Sammy turned this many (hold up your hand with four fingers showing). Months, not years old. With her fair complexion, she looks awesome in pastels. Daddy is weight lifting.
