Yesterday was Mommy's birthday. Guess how old she is? No! You're wrong! She's......um, I'd better not. She's getting a little touchy about these things in her old age. Anyway, her birthday dinner wish was to eat at the Melting Pot. Like we all need the additional calories coming off the holidays.
Thanks, Mommy, the diet I intended to start in May will now start today.
Sammy garnered all of our attention, per usual. Mommy got an extra special gift from Daddy. Auntie Kenna and Uncle Dave got her a purse hook to protect Mommy's expensive purses, and Grumpa and I got her....well, what would you give someone who's baby is this close from crawling all over the house? A carpet shampooer. Yep, we're klassy like that.
I make Sammy work out with me every morning. She does the pushups, I count. Three sets of one rep each. I know it doesn't seem fair that she's doing the work and I'm only counting, but she has to learn sometime, right? And I make her balance that toy on her head, too. Sea World, watch out!
Sammy can now hold her bottle all by herself. Of course, it can only be the plastic bottles, not the heavy glass bottles. But, hey...she's getting stronger!
Currently, to the best of my knowledge, there are only three of us in the family that can do this: one eyebrow lift. My sister, Auntie Lynn, my daughter Kenna, and myself. But now...I took this photo and can it be? A slight disdaining lift of the brow? A look of, oh, I don't know, superiority? Not a 'come hither' look, but more of a 'get away from me' look? I'll keep you posted.
If you're slightly 'off' today, I'd suggest watching this later. This is Sammy at her most vocal. It just might send those daggers right through your brain if you stayed up late last night.
Happily married for over 30 years and have two wonderful children. They in turn have married wonderful people. Aren't we all lucky? And now comes our future in grandchildren!
